Hey all!
I have about 10 minutes before I have to run again, so I just wanted to update our blog and let everyone know that we are doing ok. We’re down to 1 car right now because my sweet silver cellica started barking while driving down the interstate. They think I “threw a rod” – that means for about $5,000 they can fix it. The car is KBBed at $7,000 so is it worth it? Normally it wouldn’t be a big deal, but recently, I have become incredibly busy in Real Estate & that is a huge blessing! I got so busy that I ‘m going to have to find some help. I have formed a “team” of real estate professionals called “the Ray Team” & am looking at a few some to join. I have some interest, but I need to be very choosy. These people might be with me for a long time & they may help build my business.
The way Crye-Leike’s commission scale works, makes it more attractive for newer agents to join a team. In doing that, you have more people wor
king together to build up the sales figures of one person. That persons commission gets to the top of the scale and everyone splits a much larger portion of the commissions than they would if everyone was trying to climb the commission ladder. So, that is why I formed, “The Ray Team”. If you have the number, call my cell phone. You may recognize the theme music!
Anyway, all of that to say, Katie has become a pro at waiting! She waits on my to pick her up after school & waits on me to come home from work & waits on me to go to bed… I’m incredibly thankful that she is so patient. We made the decision not to dip into debt & we have made mistakes here and there, but for the most part, we have stuck to it. I think if I was “me” I’d go pick her up from school this afternoon in my new
Toyota Tundra, 4×4 Crew Cab, 381 Horsepower, iForce 5.7L, Limited V8 with smoke filled windows, full navigation system with back up camera, dvd players, satellite radio, ipod hookups, 12 speaker surround sound with 440W amplifier, 20″ tires, Off-Road Package with 18″ tires with a custom paint job.
But I’m not really “me”, I am “us” & for that, we want to do smart things with our $. So, for now, we save $ where ever we can – rice & beans, beans & rice, save a little here & a little there & when we have the cash, we’ll get another car.
No one said getting out of debt was easy, but I know it will be worth it. Once we are out of debt with 3 to 6 months of emergency expenses, with the house paid for, with some $ put away for retirement… then I’ll buy “my truck”. I can’t wait!
Thanks for reading. Let us know how you are doing & what is going on!
